Rob began his career in lifesaving as a pool lifeguard while studying for his A-levels. After college, he spent his summers working as a beach lifeguard with the RNLI and continued as a pool lifeguard through the winter months. During this time, Rob progressed to the role of Senior Lifeguard and qualified as a Lifeguard Trainer, sharing his skills and knowledge with new recruits.
After five years in lifeguarding, Rob transitioned into full-time first aid training with a national training provider. His passion for pre-hospital care led him to join the ambulance service, initially working in patient transport and providing medical cover at both local and national events.
Rob later trained as an Emergency Medical Technician, responding to 999 calls as part of frontline ambulance crews. Alongside his work in the ambulance service, he continued to deliver first aid courses, maintaining his commitment to education and community safety.
At the start of 2025, Rob decided to combine his frontline experience and passion for teaching by founding Waveney Training. His goal is to deliver high-quality, engaging first aid courses that are rooted in real-life experience and up-to-date clinical knowledge.
Rob continues to work part-time with the ambulance service to ensure his skills stay current and relevant—bringing the latest best practices and real-world insights into every training session.

If we have unfilled spaces on any of our open courses in the week leading up to the course date, we offer these spaces free of charge to local charities. It’s our small way of giving back and helping those who help others.
