 Modern Slavery Statement

1. Introduction

Waveney Training is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business operations. We uphold ethical business practices and ensure that our suppliers and partners share our commitment to human rights, fair working conditions, and transparency.

This statement is made in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.

2. Our Business and Supply Chains

Waveney Training provides accredited workplace training courses across Suffolk and Norfolk. While our business primarily operates within the UK, we work with various suppliers and partners who support our training services, including venue providers, equipment suppliers, and online training platforms.

We recognize that all businesses have a responsibility to be vigilant against modern slavery and are committed to ensuring our operations remain free from exploitation.

3. Policies and Commitments

To uphold our ethical standards, we have implemented the following measures:

  • Code of Conduct: We expect all employees, trainers, and suppliers to adhere to ethical business practices, fair wages, and safe working conditions.
  • Supplier Due Diligence: We assess our suppliers to ensure they comply with modern slavery laws and ethical labour practices.
  • Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage employees and stakeholders to report any concerns about unethical or illegal practices, including modern slavery.
  • Employee Training: We educate our team on recognizing and preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.

4. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We regularly evaluate our supply chains and business operations to identify and mitigate any risks related to modern slavery. Our due diligence process includes:

  • Reviewing supplier policies and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Conducting periodic assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Engaging with suppliers to address any concerns or gaps in ethical labour practices.

5. Training and Awareness

We provide training to our employees to help them understand the risks of modern slavery and how to identify signs of exploitation. We also work to raise awareness among our suppliers and partners to promote responsible business conduct.

6. Ongoing Commitment

We are committed to continuous improvement in tackling modern slavery. Over the next year, we will:

  • Strengthen our supplier assessment processes.
  • Enhance training programs on modern slavery awareness.
  • Review and update our policies to align with best practices.
